Had COVID19? Don’t Think You Need Vaccination? Think Again Says New UCI Study
So you had COVID19 already and came through it more or less unscathed. Maybe you had few symptoms. Maybe none. Maybe you are still having issues, so-called long-COVID. Maybe you nearly died. But you are still here and the question is, “Do I really need to get the vaccine?” That’s a question in many peoples’ minds. Based upon research recently published by UC Irvine the short answer is … absolutely and without any doubt for sure get the shot! Let me explain.
It turns out not all immunity is the same. I’m going to assume you know the basics. If you need a primer on m-RNA vaccines I read my blog “mRNA Vaccine Facts and Controversies, a Q&A” at my blog site www.thechristianchiropractor.com if your reading this somewhere else. Do you remember the spike protein? We’ve seen lots of pics of it. It’s the protein on the corona virus that is the most definitive marker that tells our immune system that this virus is the dreaded corona virus. It yells “Here I am!” Since the strand of m-RNA that both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines use are specifically designed to code for this spike protein, this means that the antibodies that your body makes in response to the vaccine will be able to instantly recognize what is the most recognizable part of the corona virus. This translates into “sterilizing immunity.” Sterilizing immunity is when your immune system is able to react so fast that zero viral particles gain access to your cells. In sterilizing immunity no daughter viral particles are made. No mutations can occur. There can be no new variants. You cannot spread the virus to anyone else. This is good stuff.
As it turns out your antibodies from your natural infection can’t do this, or at least as well. You see, the corona virus is actually very good at hiding its spike protein from our immune systems. Sneaky little buggers. However, there are other “antigen markers” on the virus that stimulate your immune system, but they don’t stimulate it quite as well. Therefore, when you successfully fight off a COVID19 infection the antibodies you have are not actually for the spike protein, but for another part of the virus. Sure, you successfully killed the virus last time, but the next time you are exposed your immune response may be too slow or too weak or incomplete, or all of the above. Therefore, no sterilizing immunity. In addition, the study finds that your “natural” antibodies cannot nearly as readily recognize the other viral variants, more of which are being made every day, as compared to the vaccine induced antibodies. But wait, there’s one more thing.
Finally, the study found that vaccinated people had up to 10 times the concentration of antibodies as compared to people who had a natural infection. Boom! Case closed! Get the shot, please!! Let’s stop this thing.
